If you look up blackberry8820.com in the whois database you see it belongs to a private person. This looks like someone wants to make money with it...or wants to see if he can stand the RIM lawyers

Depends on when the domain was purchased probably...If it was recent after talk of the 8820 was leaked, then I would guess nothing because of "cyber-squatting" laws".

FYI, I called a T-Mobile UK sales rep yesterday, and she said that the 8800 was showing on their system as "coming soon" but no exact date was given.

Separately, a Vodafone UK rep offered me the 8800 as part of a contract plan; he gave the impression I could have had it straight away.

So, does anyone know what is the common window of exclusivity for a single carrier? In other words, if we assume Vodafone has exclusive right over the BB 8800 in the UK for a period, is that period likely to be 30 days, 90 days, or something else?
