8800 Not on TMO's site this morning.

For those of you looking to purchase the new 8800 from TMO on their website today, it's not up there...... yet..... I will call Customer Care later this morning to see if it's available there. I was under the impression that it would be available online. Maybe just customer care......

When I go to MyTmobile I can see the 8800, but the upgrade price is $470 with a two year contract and $550 with a one year contract extension. If I click to try to upgrade I get an error page that says "An unexpected error has occurred. We apologize for any inconvenience, please try again later." So I guess T-Mobile was not quite ready for the April 23 release.

Darryl, I believe so. I am 1yr into a 2yr contract and the phone is listed for $349 with a contract extension. I just extended my contract the other day by adding a line and switching plans...

The link to upgrade (if you did want to spend $470) is still not working.

I do not see the 8800 listed either and I did not use the link above, instead went to tmobile.com and browsed all phones... I did see they are giving the 7105t away free now lol

Ahhhh.....ok. That explains why I didn't see it when I was just there. I didn't login. Going to look....

*cries* Wow...I didn't think it was going to be that much. Soon I'll have a new job but I don't know if I can justify that or not. WHEW!

Pricey. Does this mean new t-mobile customers can't get it at all? They might not get my GF as a customer if she can't get that phone.
Maybe the first release is just upgrades to avoid a rush...I'll be calling tm when I have time. Bet they are already sick of it.

new Tmo custromers CAN get it on business only I believe or upgrade fro personal. Need a tax ID # for business acct. The OS is up there. Go to pinstack's "RIM OS" forum and its listed there. Did it on my 8800. All seems fine.

Re: 8800 Not on TMO's site this morning.

i dont think there's going to be much support for the 8800. My Tmo in store rep (who's on a 1st name basis with me LOL) told me Saturday that the only reason they are picked up the 8800 is because of numerous requests but they are planning to unveil the 8300 (i think he means 8830) but he said its going to have Wi-fi, and be the most multi-media oriented phone yet including vonage type calling ability - even Internationally - as long as you have wi-fi covrage. He believed it was coming sometime in May. Who the heck knows anymore! New line orders for business plans ordering the 8800 can get it for only $249. Pissed me off cause I ordered a new line last week with no phone and they wont let me use it today to order the 8800.

I agree with you. This is merely being released by tmo and others for the business users tired of their 8700.
