It's really about what you want to do with your device.

I think the iPhone will be better in certian areas
    1. Better MP3 player.
    2. Better Screen and therefore, browsing experience.

But my Pearl is so much better in the areas that matter to me.
    1. Phone works great.
    2. Syncs with Outlook (key for me).
    3. Push email for up to 10 of my pop3 / imap accounts
    4. Customizable like crazy. I've done some amazing things I never thought possible with custom profiles etc..

I realize that the BB Browser / Screen is quite limiting for web surfing. But if I want to surf the web, I'll use my laptop. The BB Browser is perfectly acceptable for what I just "have" to do. Plus, with 3rd party apps like Beyond411 and JiveTalk, I really don't see myself switching.
    As always, just my opinion...

FYI...Gmail is not pushed on the iPhone. The only pushed email on the iPhone is Yahoo. All other emails is polled. The minimum polling time is every 15 minutes.

Also many people on other forums are complaining about the iPhone incoming voice call issue while using the internet on EDGE. When the iPhone is actively downloading from the internet using EDGE, all incoming voice calls are routed directly to voicemail. The iPhone will not break the internet connection to allow incoming voice calls like the Blackberry and most other EDGE phones. That would be a deal breaker for me.

After playing with a friend's iphone, I realized that there's nothing it can do (that matters to me, anyway) that my pearl can't. Plus, as others have said, I really don't like the touchscreen keyboard. Even with my tiny fingers, I made a zillion typos. Yeah, I'll take my $60 pearl over a $600 iphone any day. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Not yet at least. Until I can easily get all my email accounts pushed to me there is no way I would switch or even consider it.

It's not even that good. Yahoo email is not true push but uses the IMAP Idle command - which if if the connection to the server is interrupted, no email update

Last Nov. a friend of mine that works for Apple let me play with one he had. I did not like the way it worked. At that time it was slow, while the colors looked good I did not like that it did not have a thumbwheel & phone sound quality was not as good as music sound quality on that unit. May have been due to the fact that it was not a final release unit.

It is always better to wait for release 2 or 3 on a first time to market device.

Besides I have an 80 gig iPod with my music & podcast that works just fine.

That makes my 8703e the best phone & PDA combo mini-computer around.

I agree with Ghost, emailing would never be the same, besides Blackberry never gives a problem, the iphone just came out and it already had a problem..trader........NEVER
