I would give it a try..but the main reason for getting my BB was because touch screen phones can get annoying.

It would be great as a extra feature, but not to replace keypad or trackball, I'd buy it then! The trackball is the best!

I don't think I could buy a pure touchscreen bb. What happens when you try to type without looking? Plus what's the point of having a keyboard plus touch screen it would have nice when the trackwheel was still being used since there were only two directions you could move but I think the trackball really removes the need for a touchscreen

In fact, the wheel is the best interface I've used (but I've never tried the trackball). Besides, why would you want the hassle of replacing syli because they always get lost or damaged. I don't think it adds any practical functionality to a device.

No touchscreen on BB! It's what sets it apart from the rest.
I would agree with you ... I had a couple Palms and a Clie and at first I wondered about the bb with the wheel but I've grown to like it. It works for me.

Not right now. I agree with others above as far as using the Palms. It was OK but now that I don't need to use a stylus I am very happy. I don't see an advantage a touchscreen would bring to a BB either.

NO!....Trackwheel anyday. A friend of mine just got an 8800. Although it looks good, I do not like the track ball at all...and No to a touch screen

Iv had 3 iPaq models each with a touch screen, the first one stopped working for NO reason, the second one got stabbed by my keys in my pocket and the last one I sold before it could screw up but I'm sure itl die soon, my other 8703e got the screen (the outer one, not the actual lcd) cracked and ofcourse worked fine though I did just get it replaced because it was ugly

I don't think that I would like a touchscreen. My husband has the 8125 Pocket PC, which he loves, but I find the touch screen annoying. It's almost impossible to avoid having to use the stylus and I'm sure it would only take me a few days to lose the thing. LOL

as long as Treo OS and windows mobile OS had NOTHING to do with it, it would be cool...I used to have a Treo 650 so the touchscreen was nice but the crashing sucked.

Re: Would you buy a touchscreen Blackberry?

The use I could see for touch screens would only be if the input were completely revolutionary, for example: If the stylus were to scan the pixel it is pointed at, so no pressure is needed. I think this would be a great addition. I think of a system like the Nintendo duck hunt gun. (screen flashed black and duck stayed white) if this could be shrunk down into a stylus and work without any pressure i would use it.

    ... maybe I should patent search ...
