    Question Wipe 7250 Handheld

First off hello, I just joined about a week ago...a lot of valubale information...awesome site.

I have searched around for this answer, so forgive me if I am posting something that has already been answered. I was having issues with my Verizon 7250 on a hosted BES. Long story short the support team with my hosted BES told me to go to Options > Security > General > Wipe Handheld and once this is complete to do an Enterprise Activation again to try and resolve my issues.

My only concern is that it has been sitting their with the hour glass and the message "Erasing Information..." with the LED blinking red for a little over an hour now.....is this normal?

How long does it normally take to wipe a handheld??

    Thanks for any info provided.

One time it took over an hour to wipe my BB. I would say let it keep going until its finished. Sometimes if you disrupt the wipe it will effect you BB, and you will have to reload the OS.

    Re: Wipe 7250 Handheld

    Thanks for the input.

I just left it alone a while longer....which was difficult (being a crackberry addict and all ) and it just finished at 9:14 PM EST a whole 2 hrs and 30 mins after it started the wipe.

And lucky for me, it solved the problems I was having with my hosted BES Account.

    Thanks again.

It's always worth checking if the content encryption and/or content protection is enabled (both on the Security Menu) change these to DISABLED before doing the wipe.

I've known wipes take 12+ hours for heavy BB users if they aren't disabled.
