If I invest my hard-earned into a mobile device, it's got to do some s---.
The lack of copy/paste, obex, a2dp, mass storage mode, spell check, password keeper, voice dialing, pin messaging, video record, flash, java support, MMS, security features, multi-tasking, speed dial, themes, autotext and micro SDHC support makes the iPhone a no-go.

I've heard rumors of apple tryin to buy out ATT or start a phone co. from scratch but haven't looked into it much. Also apple will make everything cost money and not little there be 3rd party developers so it will never kill BB. The only way i could see BB ending is a merger with Apple or Microsoft.

Please DON'T give Microsoft ideas!!

Apple has to contend with Google's forays into smartphoneland much more than RIM does...and Google is highly competent technically, has plans and synergies going for them, and does not give up easily.

I don't see RIM loosing the battle anytime soon. I've seen some of their upcoming stuff, and by upcoming I mean after bold, thunder and kickstart. All I can say is they have really done their research this time.

Yes, that sounds correct. A substantial part of RIM's business is a niche market anyway... while the iPhone is squarely within Google's Android/Gphone ambit.

    My feelings on the iPhone:

AT&T and Apple, y'all want how much for what (non)capabilities? Seriously, the plan pricing on this thing is ridiculous -- no texts? Not to mention, no copy and paste, no multitasking, no themes, and no speed dial? And "Flash will be coming soon, we promise!"?

    How about no?

I could care less about Apple and the iPhone and whatever they decide to do. I am confident RIM will hold its own. I am sure most Berry addicts like myself will find that the iPhone is no match for the BlackBerry. Although some Berry users will transfer to the new iPhone (and probably come crawling back a month later), there is no way Apple can dominate RIMs marketshare. How many iphones are there? Now how many BlackBerrys are there? RIM has many (awesome!!) phones in place to reach not only executives but college students and small business owners, and more. The iPhone is the iPhone. It cannot compare to the BlackBerry.
