Maybe RIM is listening to us but the funny thing about the BlackBerries according to Fark.com is that I can actually see those becoming future games or apps for a BB lol

The list of things I wish I could do almost doesn't exist since I got my 8700r. Expandable memory and video would be nice. Attatchable (or bluetooth) camera. File transfer via bluetooth to other phones.
    That's about it.

The 8700c is pretty loud. I use Sonar as the ringer.

    What I'd like?

1- Touch screen/stylus support - Usability would vastly improve for me, a long time Palm user (1997 to present).

2 -USB2 support on the devices - I've got users with literally 20,000 contacts. Synching takes forever, even on an 8700c. Backing up devices (something we do frequently) takes even longer, because the USB on the Blackberries is only 1.1.

3 - Battery life like my 957 used to have (once went a month without fully charging) - 7 days would be acceptable.

4 - My real wish is that they'd all just disappear, and nothing replaced them, but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Acted like a remote to control the lighting in the house so I would never have to walk into a dark house or act like a remote.

The one feature I wish my BB had was voicenotes. That is something I used a lot when I had a regular cell and it came in very handy.

Re: What you'd wish your Blackberry did...

I can add a couple of things to the list. I first have to say that I'm very pleased with my first BB. I have no idea why I didn't discover these little computers before. [Ruminators kicks self!]

I'd actually like to have two SDIO slots, one for a semi-permanent memory expansion (so I could store things like PDF files, images, and maybe MP3's), but be able to remove the card, put it in a reader/writer on my computer, and not transfer data over the cable/bluetooth/'net/whatever. I'd like the second SDIO slot for device expansion, such as a digital camera (don't need a lot, but a 1+ MPx device could be useful for documenting research sites, auto accidents, or the grandkids), or a WiFi card (integrated WiFi would be better though).

I'd also like voice dialing to keep my hands off the handset while in the car. I want to hit my headset and say the name of my target then let the phone dial the number for me. I used to manage my mobile phone alright (which has voice-dialing), but the BB makes me very nervous in the car. I haven't learned to one-hand the BB yet without taking eyes off road and that makes me uncomfortable.

I can see where the standard software could be expanded/improved. I'd like the task list to be able to display only tasks due today, or next three days, or next seven days, plus overdue tasks. I'd like the task list to show the priority and due date in columnar format. A sort by category could be useful too.

Category display for contacts could also be useful.

Synchronization with Macintosh computers out-of-the-box would be marvelous.

That's it for me, at least for now. Maybe after another month I'll have some additional ideas. Are there any RIM staffers frequenting this site?
