~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I have the red curve 8310 from att. Its a great phone but I think the buttons are too small. The camera is better than the pearl. I used to have the red pearl and I found typeing was a lot easier while driving. But the curve that I have now has a better camera

I have a tip to share with you, as I have both a Pearl and a Curve. To make it easier to type while driving, simply remove your steering wheel, then you will have a clearer view of the instrument panel and can type without the hassle of steering...........

CAUTION: do not try this at home OR in your car.....

Me? When in the car I choose to DRIVE....and fast !

I'd have to say the pearl. Since I also own the curve ill say that the curve is a pretty solid phone to.but comparing the two if go with the pearl. Less bulky and with a gps reciever its pretty much the same as the curve except I can type Faster with the pearl

I admire all of the Curve's options, but I like the BB Pearl 8130! It has more than enough!

Best BB out right now in my opinion is the curve based on its compact size, screen size, consumer friendliness, full qwerty, and good camera. No video capture YET but the previous stated items are enough to tip the scales for the Curve rather than the Pearl. The best Curve of the current three available I believe is the 8310. There is more of a useable difference between it and the 8300 than there is between the 8300 and the 8320.

i wanted a phone first and a PDA second. i also wanted durability and long battery life. i love my pearl and would not trade it in unless i got hired for a job where emailing everyone at work is a must. other wise i dont see a reason to have all those buttons.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I have the 8310 and this is my first BB. I come from a smartphone background of a series of Nokia's with the Symbian OS. After one week of BB ownership I definitely don't feel as though I've lost anything. Well, not anything too important, anyhow. I do miss the wifi of my Nokia N80 but, like some previous posters, I am usually not far from my computer in wifi-available situations.

The GPS is one thing I gladly traded for wifi and while I have yet to be in a situation to greatly benefit from this feature, it will only take one or two such instances to outweigh the benefits (for me) of wifi.

Of course I'm making some irrelevant comparisons as this thread is aimed at BB to BB not BB to Nokia or the Symbian OS.

I could have gone with the +wifi -camera Curve for the same price but, again, the wifi loses to the camera (for my needs).

I am happy with the 8310 for now but it should be noted that price due to my long-overdue upgrade discount with ATT played heavily to my selection. If I could have had a Nokia N95 for the same $80, I would have done it.
