Hello Caself1, and welcome to PinStack!

Sorry it took so long to get your question answered. You posted this in one of our forums that requires moderator approval, so I moved it to this General BlackBerry thread.

Anyway, wifi enabled means you are able to make phone calls (on T-Mobile, anyway), surf the internet, etc via a wifi connection instead of using your data plan.

    Carl,

Go into Manage Connections on your device. This is where you'll set it all up. It's pretty intuitive, at least on my 9700.

Do you have a wireless router at home? Is it password protected? You'll need to know your password, etc when you start scanning for networks. Once you've got it set up and enabled, it will automatically connect to the network when you're home. Should also automatically connect to any wifi hotspots when you're out and about.
