Did you load the correct vsm file? Maybe you rebranded it to something else instead. Vendor I'd 1 is a proper debranding as far as I know...

Either is a debranded vendor id. Everything works great. I just thought it was weird because I'm still not 100% sure who F100 is.

I got a V179 handset from my insurance company when my handset was replaced near christmas.

Everything I read on the net said that the vendor ID could not be changed by unlocking.

did you get the handset direct from t-mobile? is a replacement at all?

Vendor ID's cannot be changed by unlocking. However, you can debrand your device. That will set it to vendor ID "1"

That's what I meant, the unlocking can't debrand...

I wasnt trying to suggest you could debrand by unlocking. I searched many sources trying to sort out an issue I had that was missing feature from an unbranded 8120.

As for loading the correct VSM file - I never managed to do that. My device would not accept a new VSM.

So you say that a completely unbranded device is ID 1, so back to the original question - who is 179 or F100?

One would need to know the right people and have the right information...

Mine is at vendor ID 1... And I loaded the vsm file quite successfully...
