Question Using the transfer option on the destop manager

Do I run into any problems when I use the function on the desktop manager to transfer the files and settings from my 8700 to my 8830? Is it better to reinstall all of my software and settings? I didn't know if going from one OS to another and an older model to a newer one would maybe corrupt the new BB?

Shouldn't have any problem. Some Apps will transfer and some won't And depending on the app, you may have to update the Pin/IMEI or re-register the new BB with the App Developer.

Look at my list of previously used Berrys in my sig -- believe me, from experience, the device transfer option is the way to go. Occasionally I've gone back to a previous model from a more current one and the "Switch Device" option in Desktop Manager knows what to update and what to leave alone. In the long (and short) run it saves a lot of headaches!
