    i have sprint service and i want to use my cingular blackberry now, so all i have to do is unlock the blackberry correct, or is that wrong plz help, and whats the different between SIM card unlocking and reg. unlocking

    The difference is that Sprint uses CDMA and Cingular uses GSM which are two incompatible technologies.
    There is no way you could use your Sprint BB on Cingular or vice-versa because of that difference. Even by unlocking your BB, CDMA phones can only be used with other CDMA carriers I.e.- Verizon' Alltel and GSM phones can only be used with other GSM carriers, like T-Mobile.

    one is CDMA other is GSM which use sim cards. They are incompatible

    And the GSM side of the 8830 is not compatible with GSM frequencies used here in the US. Hence the "world phone" capability.
