    Unlock issues with pearl

    Sorry to be new and post already. I came across this site from another forum. I have the black pearl from tmobile. They had sent me the unlock code via my email. I followed their instructions and it gives me "code error please wait" After that the tries goes down. I tried with them on the phone with a different sim, turning off the wireless, and enabling security. Nothing works. They are sending me another phone to try with another code. Anyone have this issue and if so how did you fix it? Thanks in advance.

    haven't heard this one.
    hopefully the new pearl will work with a new code

    What instructions are you using? That's strange. I also have never heard of this. Good luck with the new one. What carrier do you have?

    I got my unlock codes from T-mobile and unlocked my phone successfully.

    Ok well nothing i do works, hoperully when i get the new code it will work with the new phone. I have 1 try left on the old one. Im just going to leave it alone. I hope they dont charge me when they recieve the phone for trying so many times. thanks for all the help. I wish i would have found this site sooner due to all the problems i have had with this thing.

    If you type in the code how is the BB set to: SureType or MultiTAP? My suggestion is: If you receive the new on set the old to MultiTAP and try again with the old one. If that works - hey, were done. If not you have another phone

    here is the email they sent me minus the code, i dont want to break any rules by putting my code on here.


    [FONT=Tahoma]Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your Blackberry 8100 Pearl device.

    1. Press the Menu key.
    2. Scroll to Options and press the trackball.
    3. Scroll to Advanced Options and press the trackball.
    4. Scroll to SIM Card and press the trackball.
    5. Type MEPPD
    Note: When typing in MEPPD the letters will not appear on the screen. This step opens up the personalization on the device.
    6. Press the Alt key and type MEPP2
    Note: When typing in MEPP2 the letters/number will not appear on the screen. This Step opens up the Enter Network MEP code box.
    7. Enter unlock code.
    8. Press the Enter Key.

    i get the error code right after i hit enter after putting in the code.
