    unavailable-but really available

I have an 8703e and my wife is using 7250. We are on alltel. Sometimes when we use bbmesenger it will show the other unavailable right after sending the message. However sms will still go right through. Eventually without doing anything availble status resumes. Any ideas why tis is happening?

Does it to me as well, even though I never set myself to unavailable. I wish the phone was smart enough to know when I dont want messages and set my availablility for me.

I don't know if this is a software issue or a network issue, but I've seen the same thing.

I hope RIM fixes it because it can be a little irritating at time.

Yep. I'm on Sprint, and also see this often.

Well I'd say I'm glad I am not the only one this happens to but I'm not glad about it at all.

I have no clue. I don't even bother looking at availability on BBM. If the person's available the message will be maked as delivered and/or read and the person will respond. If not, the message won't get delivered or read. It's a pretty minor issue IMO since you have the delivery status indicators for each message.
