    TXT With MMS

I have been wondering about how the BlackBerry handles SMS and MMS differently, especially how carrier plans for BB add on don't allow you many txt messages.

Is it possible to just compose an MMS message without any attachments such as pictures and sounds, it would be like a txt(as long as the person receiving the message has a messaging plan if they aren't using a blackberry.)

Then wouldn't it be like having "unlimited txt"?

Most of the time an MMS is like a SMS. For T-Mobile they are both considered text messages and charged as such, MMS costs a little more if you don't have a plan. You would have to pay, possible more for the MMS.

No matter the carrier, it is typical that BlackBerry Data Plan and SMS / MMS are charged at different rates and require different plans.

And even how SMS and MMS are billed are different between carriers.

And be assured that you won't be able to "trick" your carrier into billing or not billing for some service because you have a work-around for it. They will get what is owed to them.

    djjustg, Welcome to PinStack.

Dont know which Blackberry you have and don't know anything about 3 StarHub as a carrier, but some carriers haven't enabled MMS for BBs yet.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BB.

Sending a teleflip message should fool the carrier if you have unlimited data, but billable mms/sms. I have unlimited both from Tmo, so I don't worry.

What is 3 StarHub, and I also have a Pearl with unlimited messaging, I was just wondering because in the MMS menu, there is a blank template option.

MMS (multi-media messages) are like txt messages but also allow you to add attachments to the message such as voice recordings, pictures and videos.
