Question Turn your BlackBerry into a GreenBerry?

I was thinking about what to do if I took my BB on a camping trip with no accessible power or if I could just charge my portable devices on a window sill.

    I came accross this site:
    http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006...chargers_1.php

I wonder If there it would be possible to do with a BlackBerry?

This site actually shows a BB connected to its solar charger http://www.soldius.com/ourproducts.html , yet it isn't listed on the supported devices list

These are pretty cheap ($35-$45) as well
    http://www.siliconsolar.com/pda-sola...-chargers.html

The reason I ask is I am afraid the BB will tell me that the USB charging is not sufficient.

    Any thoughts on this subject?

Not sure how safe, but a charger that fits a Razr works. That's what I use in my car and it works fine - charging the BB that is..

Solar chargers do work when its cloudy, just not as well. For a mobile phone with a battery and careful use (turn it off at night or when there is no signal) you could probably have no problem running indefinately with one of these.

Most portable chargers have step up capacitors so they should be putting out enough voltage. They will just put out a lot less current than a wall charger so it may take much longer to charge than normal.

Looks interesting! I might have to pick one up!

I was reading in some travel magazine - or maybe time magazine- they do work - when I find the site I'm gonna post - cuz there was the coolest and smallest and triple green - you could use solar power, crank it, or use wind power - and it was only like $52

Looks great, I usually avoid brining any electronics with me but the ipod. This seems like a great thing to have with on a trip, looks chease, I know, but when there is no plugs anywhere in sight, this thing seems like it would frigging rock!
