Why would a brand new trackball assembly still need a hard push to work? I thought my old one is broken and changed it, is there a way to clean underneath it? Thanks.

it could be a bad replacement, or it might just need to be broken it; it shouldn't require a lot of hard work though.

Have you tried examining the contact on the phone for debris or damage?

I would think wd-40 would make it smell. besides the issue isn't scrolling, its clicking. I think the only possibilities are a bum part or a bum selection contact.

also wouldnt wd-40 make the wheel too slick for the roller contacts?

I tried canned air and cleaned under the trackball and still the same response, both my old one and the new one, so I suppose it`s the little contact under the trackball. I can`t sell it like thissssssssssssss..........

you could look for a as is one on ebay and try to salvage the board from a new one. Or just sell your current one on ebay and upgrade. either way you'll have to take a loss.

you could try cleaning the contact point with a q-tip soaked in alcohol. Just make sure there's no power in your phone (take out battery, let it sit a tic) and let it dry completely. If that doesn't help, I would have to say you're out of luck.

I just exchanged it since it was still in warranty. Thanks for your advice.
