    Re: Trackball and Thumb Wheel

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I have used both the trackwheel and trackball. I can definitely say that the trackball is less cumbersome and more appealing. I think its because I used a phone with a navigational system similar to it previously (Samsung E635).

I've used a 7730, 7100t and 7105t with the trackwheel until it broke on my 2nd 7105t. Also there have been times where the trackball became unresponsive but I have been able to fix that.

I don't think I could go back to the trackwheel or deal with both on one phone.

    Re: Trackball and Thumb Wheel

I loved the trackwheel on my 7520 and 8700. I didn't know I'd think of the ball, but with my curve I forgot about that old trackwheel after the weekend.

I hope I "convert" just as easily when I make my purchase in a few weeks...

I converted easily to my8300 from the 8700. The trackball is better in my opinion.
    - easier one handed since you don't have to use the alt combo to go left and right
    - nice to be able to lay the phone flat on a table and navigate around using your index fingure.

Give it a try like dcooksta said it only takes a few days to get used to it

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I have to agree, I was a bit hesitant about the whole trackball thing, but a few days and I was navigating just as well as I could with the thumbwheel.

I like the convenience of adjusting the volume during the call while the handheld is still at my ear -- so I think I'll remain a wheel man .

Trackball on 8800 made usage way less convinient. I can see trackball on pearl is more useful.

It's been less than a day since I picked up my 88 and I am already seeing the ease of the TBall vs. The TWheel!

I like the TBall much better, but I still have the "ghost" thumb... Trying to use the TWheel even though it's not there!

    Love the TBall...!!!

    Re: Trackball and Thumb Wheel

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ive had my 8800 for about a month now and I gotta say, I really miss my wheel. I had no problem with using the 8700 one handed in my left or right hand, no problem navigating and I only have a couple programs where I would have to do the "alt scroll" thing requiring 2 hands. And also I have difficulty using the ball with one hand with any accuracy. If anything I would like a feature disabling the left right function of the ball so it can act more like the wheel. Maybe have it a default item in all menus so it can be toggled on the fly. Just an idea

I haven't tried the trackball, but I am interested in it when I upgrade. I'm hoping I like it as much as the trackwheel.
