Only suggestion is to find a good friend w/ Windows XP and load software on there. Put all your music on cd or media card and view/unload from friend's PC via Roxio. (Media Manager.)

You could try searching for music you like via your web browser. Or you could try loading favorite .wma files from your pc to your media card...sometimes they work.

    mustang,

Do you have a sd card installed on your 8100? USB on your desktop? Will your 98 machine see a flash drive? If so enable mass storage and you can treat the phone as a flash drive.

Good call GaryF! I forgot about MS. The downfall of having a dependable PC...

Maybe a far stretch, but you could boot from a linux cd and plug in your blackberry via usb. Pm if you wanna give it a try.

You could upload tunes to an online account such as Box.net and access via browser.

I also have windows 98 and I hope this works. I am going to try when I get home.

I have 100 songs on my phone I got OTA from wapking.net and waptrick.com but I want my music as well.

My win 98 won't see my phone as a usb and won't read half my usb flash drives that I do have. So I thought I was out of luck. I will try that site when I get home and post results.

Box.net worked on my 8100. I uploaded it to box.net and had it sent to my email that goes to my phones desktop and clicked the link in that. Takes awhile to download each one, but it works better than nothing.

I also am stuck with an old computer with windows 98, so I feel your pain. Good luck!
Life is like a movie, you've sat through half of it and its sucked so far, it probably isn't gonna get great right at the end to make it all worthwhile. you shouldn't get blamed for walking out early

    Win98SE , I hope!

I've been uploading music to Yahoo and Gmail accounts...quite convenient. "Store your music in Google's Cloud"

There is an app, BTW, that makes a Gmail account into a virtual hard drive.

Another possibility is to get a little cheap USB SD card reader/writer. I understand that you can remove your tiny SD card, put it in the full-sized adapter thing (that undoubtedly came with your card) and insert it into the external card reader. So long as you have 98 second edition, it is my understanding that these devices will work (though you will need to install drivers from the CD that comes with the reader). I thin you can get readers at Wally World, Ebay, Tiger, all over the place pretty cheap. Just make sure your ver of Windows is on the package and it should work fine.

I guess I am unlucky with my 98SE. It we have one flash drive it will read, the resat it wont. I am lucky it reads the 1gig drive and not my 256 lol

I purchased a memory card reader and it would read it, I downloaded the drivers off the cd and then the ones from the site and it didnt work with either.

My computer wont read anything usb unless it is a printer, mouse, keyboard or that one flash drive I have. i hope everyone has better luck than I do with their windows 98.

I am looking into windows xp tiny and seeing if that will help. I am looking for a place to download it since most of the sites are not working for me. I will post back when I have found a site that lets me download it and see if it helps any.
