    Time zones switching by themselves

    Hi there,
I live in mountain and traveled last week to central. I went to options, and changed to Central time. I also tried the source in all three ways, none, BB, and network.
No matter what, the time zone would change every couple of hours from Central back to Mountain. I really need to know the correct time. How do I get it to stop switching back automatically?

    Thanks (8700c, cingular)

I think going to options/date&time and then choosing Blackberry under Date/Time Source will keep the time in your home zone at all times but changing it to Network will make the time changes are you pass into different zones?

    But i may be mistaken?

someone else will chime in and let us know.

Well, we all have different devices, but yeah, on my 8100, it's in the options to choose your date and time source...

    I dunno if this helps?

I live in eastern standard time and when I viisted Las Vegas a few weeks ago I had the same issue. I also tried all three options but it would go back to eastern time when ever I hooked it up to my laptop. I was using my 8700 as a teather modem. It would never pick up the corect local time. I called T-Mobile and they said they had no idea why this was.

I believe that there is an option to sync the time of the device with the clock on your laptop when you sync your BB by USB cable. That may be what is going on in your case... You can take a look at your intellisync configuration.

Are you using internet mail on your device or do you connect to a BES? I wonder is the BES can force a time sync or not (just guessing here!)

I have the same problem. I'm on eastern time and it keeps on going back to pacific time. What's the problem?

    as bbd mentioned above...

Check the time on your computer that you are using Desktop Manager on...

You may find that it is your COMPUTER that is behind, and when you are plugging your device into the USB and DM, it's actually resetting your time to whatever time the computer says it is.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
I contacted Verizon and Blackberry technical support. I found out that unlike standard cell phones, Blackberry does not have the capability to automatically update the displayed time, regardless of who your service provider is.
When travelling you will have to check your options/date time and physically change your time zone to what the network time says.
I know this will be a pain, but it is the only way to display your network / current time.
    I hope this helps...

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~nope,that is how I initially changed it. It would switch back by itself later.

Me also. I was using my BB as a tethered modem and I think it was changing whenever I connected it to the laptop.
