Was a Palm user 8 yrs ago but fell for the Symbian OS while I was just getting used to Palm. When I first met BB early last year, only then I knew I was with the 'wrong' device. Ditched both for BB and now everything is fine and dandy. So don't worry, you won't missed anything without Palm or Symbian for that matter

I recently moved just under 10 years of collected data from my Palm to BB via the Desktop Manager tool... fear not, everything translated perfectly. All is good... take the jump

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
The BB MemoPad can sync with Outlook in the Notes section

Re: Time to leave my Palm behind?

    Right here we go

Do a back up of your bb just in case it goes wrong

Connect the palm to the pc and do a hot sync in to palm desktop manager .
Now disconnect the palm plug in your bb and open dm

You should see a option for switch device.
When this opens there is an option to switch from a palm to a bb.
After this it should be easy

Please note I'm at home and trying to remember how to do this from my head.

If no one else jumps in ill be back in work in 12 hours and post a full step by step guide then.

Hope this is of some help.

Re: Time to leave my Palm behind?

I managed to do it! Vince, I just followed your steps and the BIG key was making sure both devices were plugged in before I got started. Then it was just a matter of letting the bb desk top walk me thru a few simple things and everything transfered over great. Thank you all so much.

If you have outlook 2003 or 2007 on your PC... enable the synch to Outlook conduit on your PC.. then synch away. then with the blackberry synch the info back via the desktop manager. if this was covered already my apologies.. it was a tad bit tricky but all my info NEVER went outside to the internet to anything.

Re: Time to leave my Palm behind?

I've been trying to switch from a Treo 755P to a 8830 and I'm not able to do it. I have the Treo Hot Sync to the Palm Desktop (NOT Outlook) when i choose the "Switch Device Wizard" then "Switch from another device..." I get stuck and it does not let me choose from Palm or Windos device.
