I got the email. And, I reinstalled BBM because I updated the OS and I got a message saying I could wireless restore my contacts if I affiliate BBM with any registered address. So, I guess that'll do it. Pretty cool!

Super frustrating. Just got all the avatars set up on 2 phones and looks like delete is going to have to happen.

Keep in mind I had done battery pulls and re sent the service books to both devices with no success of fixing the issue.
first of all I disabled proximity sharing. just checked off the "disable" box.
Is proximity sharing only available on the Storm? Can't find it on my 8120.

I tried that and it didn't work. You can only back up contacts after you add them to the new BBM.

Oh ok. I don't have GPS. I also just discovered I can backup my contacts but I couldn't store that backup on my media card, only the device memory.

Seems as though this process could b done as a auto update that comes from RIM. It would b so much easier.

hmm i too am debating if i should downgrade the delays in messages are driving me up the wall i notice 2 things that havnt been mentioned here
    1. now when i send voice notes it also saves that voicenote in my media files that never happened before and
    2. sending pictures now isnt like before the person accepts it THEN it will start sending it will have a bar to show you the progress

and finally glad to see that the email sent out has been figured out so really all it is another way to do a back up only it will just back it up to your email account? if anyone can shed more like on this that be cool

new bbm works fine on my bold, but caused such a mess on my wifes 8900. wouldnt send/receive msgs with any regularity.... it would not send a bunch, and then clump a bunch and send em at once... reverted to the bbm in the latest 8900 os release and it works fine again... dont know what to say but its not ready for 8900.

i find it a waste for people to install this its a beta going to be bugs and also a waste to have to go threw the whole setup of backing up stuff/apps installing a new os and restoring everything putting the serials and all that back in is a pain and some dont want to install another carriers os like me so imma just wait for this to get dropped and rim should have the (77) prob fixed and also have new stuff maybe added so who knows anyways

i gues it depends on your phone. It might be a ton of labor for some and seamless for others. My buddy list were transferred during the upgrade, so all i had to do was commit 15 minutes to upgrading.
