That's a very interesting question, I would hope that they would still allow the option of upgrading your OS from Desktop Manager.

Well I guess updating wirelessly will be an option. It doesn't mean the OS can only be installed that way. I'm sure people will always be loading alternative carrier os's as long as the vendor trick can be implemented.

well you still have to have the same OS on your PC as your BB, so i'd assume that there would be a PC download as well

I think it would be crazy o have a 100MB file come through your EDGE connection to upgrade, unless you have WiFi. I believe we still will be able to download using Desktop Manager.

Well I don't want to update the OS via the carriers network. I'm afraid that the connection collapse in the critical phase of the update and turns the BB into scrap.

It takes long enough to install the OS from the DM. How long would it take to do it OTA. Count me out on that. I can't believe that they would take the DM option away - most anyone with a life wouldn't want to do it OTA. (No offense to anyone.)

They'll more than likely still have both as an option. Ota and downloadable to a desktop. There are some issues that will happen to a blackberry where you would actually have to connect it to the desktop manager. So it'll be an option. Its just going to be more convenient to upgrade OTA ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
