Hmmm... the device I'm talking about has vendor id of 179 so it's unbranded... why would unbranding activate escreens permanently?

Branding to an engineering testing device Vendor ID (1) deactivates device security. From what I can see in the OS modules, there are several hidden screen activations if the device security is disabled, or if various magic codes are entered.

It's not a procedure I would recommend, because I'm not sure what the other side effects of deactivating device security are.

Yes, im on vendor ID 1, and so far absolutely no such reprecussions...

since its very hot here in pakistan, i usually use the escreens to force battery charge for some time at reduced power...

anyone know what to do in the escreens if the device keeps giving "no service"

i may have changed some settings to cause this to happen... but i recall only messing with the wifi section...

have tried to remove escreens by putting back my original carrier vsm file... but the option to insert the vsm file in the "program" just stays grayed out...

any suggestions would be awesome...

Has anyone had any success with turning EDGE on on their phone?

I have the 8120 and yet wherever I go it will not get to EDGE. It i supposed to be supported in my local area and by the device. One my 8700g I could get on EDGE in certain areas but not the 8120.

I have looked through the escreens but there is too much info in there.

Does anyone know if the escreen can be used to increase brightness/contrast? I'm hoping that somewhere in there the default 100% brightness level can be increased (kind of like how video cards can allow you to make your screen brighter than the LCD's 100% level). Any thoughts? Also, is the core frequency screen disabled by default? If so, how can it be enabled (mine says that it is disabled and the only options I have on it are copy screen and refresh)?
