    Re: Stackers Speed Test

    moe, the last link doesn't work for BB browsers.

    the first link wouldn't work in my BB browser, so I tried it in Opera Mini.

    EDGE in Opera Mini= 1.52 mbps
    WiFi in BB Browser = 619.7 kbps

    ...something MUST be wrong.

    227.56Mbps on AT&T Edge w/ BB 8100

    Seems pretty good to me since this area usually has slow everything.
    As always, just my opinion...

    Frankly, I really think that anything over 200 Mbps is fine for most things. Until there is youtube or other streaming applications, the speed you're getting is probably fine.

    It works fine for me! More than the speed at which it downloads is the latency after the download request. This is what I find the most frustrating. You click on a link and it takes a second or so before it even starts doing anything. But i think this is just how mobile devices tend to be...

    Do you people realize this 'test' is bogus? If you are all getting upwards of 200 MEGABYTES PER SECOND then it is defoinitely not legit. Especially on EDGE! Unless all of you are mistyping megabytes per second instead of kilobytes per second via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    Couldn't agree more. I ran a few tests from the PC and BB and I'm getting wildly different results - most of which aren't close to real. www.dslreports.com/mspeed is far more reliable for mobile speed tests but can't be run on BB browsers. My results:

    PC (cable): 132Mbps (dslreports: 2.8Mbps)
    Treo (EVDO): 392Kbps (dslreports: 162Kbps) - 162 is about right for EVDO
    BB Media Net (EDGE): 89.1Kbps (dslreports: N/A) - 89.1 is about right for EDGE
    Palm Pilot-->Handspring Visor-->Treo 300-->Treo 600-->Treo 650-->Treo 700p+E62-->Treo700p+Curve (8300)-->Curve (8330)-->Tour (9630)
