    A number of their phones (esp. BlackBerry devices) use SIM cards now. The newer Berry's are capable of roaming on GSM with the correct SIM card. I can't see Sprint or Verizon ever switching to GSM as a whole; it would require a complete swap of the network infrastucture; sites, switches, and everthing in between. $$$$$$$$$

    Besides the 8830 and one other Samsung world phone for verizon, those are the only 2 GSM phones. But they dont work unless your out of the U.S. Sprint i doubt will be around long enough to even make the jump.

    MAYBE....verizon MIGHT make all their phones capable of going GSM w/SIM outside the states for a more compatable cell serivce... like the 8830.
