What handheld version are you using?

You should set your messages to be auto pruned at 15, 30, 60 or 90 days and not set to 'forever'.

How many 3rd party apps do you have loaded on the BB?

Removed unused apps from your BB by going to: 'options' / 'applications' and selecting delete on apps not used and even RIM apps like brickbreaker, tasks, help, etc.

If your using the 7280 the you have less memory than the 32mb 7290 and 7520. Running 4.0 will slow the handheld down. See the last paragraph of this... http://www.pinstack.com/viewtopic.php?t=8

You may want to wipe your handheld after a backup and start afresh (last resort).

I have messages auto-pruned at 15 days, no 3rd party Apps. May just wipe the device and see what happens, cause it was fine when I installed it.
