    SIM Application?

    Anyone ever seen this ICON? It appears to be a little picture of a SIM card. Got it after installing a China Unicom SIM in my 8100.

    And here is what I get when I launch it:

    Hi Gary - weird. Even if it's your carrier services how do you figure out what it's telling (offering) you? How's China?

    Interesting - never saw that one before! The carrier for this SIM is China Unicom. I guess I may have to find a OS with Chinese if I want to know what it says. Course, all I really want is voice so maybe its best to just hide it before I do something stupid....

    China is fine. Trip was long but uneventful. Its quite warm and muggy with lots of Olympics - on the streets, signs, TV, newspaper. The whole country is pretty proud of this event. But no Bold sightings yet!

    Since there is so much attention to China right now I am going to try and find time to take some pictures and add a China Blog entry.....

    K Gary. It's the beginning of your Sunday and the end of a tired Saturday for me here. I'll look for a post in your blog - Right now I'm going to watch a movie (netflix) and relax. Later,

    When Jim from www.tuneusin.com was in China about a month ago he had the same symbols. I said to him...due to his BB not having the chinese language pack on his phone it couldn't render the characters.

    ya its for whatever services your carrier offers with your sim. For example mine offers;

    -carrier services, resending settings, registering for new services

    -sim phonebook, sim memory, groups

    -send sms (that's interesting)

    Looks like you have more options.
