    Re: Settlement?

I dunno. I think a settlement is moraly wrong.. but that is just my two cents. I mean, didn't the patent office throw out all the patents in question? Why should RIM have to pay NTP for something that doesn't exsist anymore. Hmmm....
I say NTP should be taught a lesson and made and example of. Maybe hang the lawyer owner fellow upside down in front of the court house for a little while as a deterant for other lawsuits that shouldn't be.

I agree with Melissaox. The US is over litigated as it is. If all the patents get thrown out the settlement agreement should be null and void.

    Re: Settlement?

Here's what we've known for sure since November.
BlackBerry users will not lose service if maker RIM is hit with an injunction, a top RIM executive said. RIM Co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie said "We're endeavoring to plan for every scenario. Our customers can be calm that there won't be an interruption of service." Balsillie also said "We've done it (the workaround) in a way that we don't think there's a compromised experience, period."
