I just upgraded to the curve and still have my old (cingular-now AT&T) blackberry pearl. What does everyone usually do with their old blackberry?

Sell then, or gift to a friend or family member. Just security wipe the device to clear your personal data, and remember to remove any BIS accounts you have registered to the BB if you have any.

There's a topic here for buying/selling devices or you could put it on craigslist or something like that. Totally up to you, but if it's in good shape, it's worth putting on the market.

The reason I was asking that aside from wiping the blackberry, I wasn't sure if there was anything else special I had to do, or include in a listing for the device.

The device wipe will remove all the data bases on the device. You must also remove the PIN from your carriers BIS page or the device will continue to get your emails.

Your listing should include the following:
    Model, Asking Price, Terms, Location.
Condition, include photos and specifics of any scratches on the screen area.
    If locked, the carrier.
    Accessories you are including.

    Sold my 8700 on craigslist!

And you ain't kiddin' about flakes and scam artists, Cherri. Craigslist does warn you about that, though and it's free and easy to post an ad there.

Thanks everyone! I have sold things on CL before (and have experienced a few crazies). I would assume it is locked to AT&T so I'll list as such. Thanks again!

Call ATT cust svc, and tell them you're taking a trip to Europe and you need an unlock code. You can get more for an unlocked BB.
