So, on Friday I was rushing to get ready as Mom and I were doing some running around that day. Well I went to unplug my 7230 from charing and it fell from my desk to the floor(carpet).

Ok, no biggie. It's just carpet, right?

    WRONG

The lcd broke. Liquid made a lovely cactus print on the screen. Lucklly it still turned on so I did a quick backup... then left very upset.

After getting home I called RIM, not much help, as I didn't buy it from my service provider and it wasn't under warrenty... sooo...

I just bought a 8700v and it should arrive in a week or so.

Sorry to hear about that, I have dropped my BB's many times and on concrete and never had a broken LCD...yet.

Thats crazy that happened from a drop on carpet.

Im sure you will enjoy your upgrade to the 87xx series

Tear it apart and piece it out to recover some of your money lost. Housings, keypads and batteries can sell quite well.

I dropped mine in the parking lot the other day and nothing happened. Well it was in it's holster but still it's concrete and I was running too when I dropped it. Sorry to hear about your BB, but you can always get a new one right .
