Rim Network Email Messages driving me crazy...

...Does anyone know what causes those network Rim emails delivered to your BB and or Outlook email? Sometimes, I get a lot and it drives me crazy! Sometimes, it takes forever (all day) for the messages to clear out of my email. I have 194 as of this morning sitting in my outlook. The message ask for individuals to leave the message and do not delete or respond and that the messages will clear on its own.

It's just annyoying so if I'm doing something to generate them (unintentionally) I want to stop! LOL

You set up for BES and don't have a BES account. Change your setup to BIS.

I've never gotten them with BIS. I'd check your settings.

I'm in the wireless business and customers have been coming in with the same issue, the message seems to be delivered to users that have changed to a new blackberry recently from a previous model blackberry, what I do to stop that annoying email coming in is I call data support of the wireless carrier your using and tell them what message is coming through and they fix it, and I advise you to do the same. Let us know how it works out.

I'm pretty confident I selected BIS! This is done online in my email setup, correct?

BIDARTS - I recently changed from the 8703 to the 8830. However, I also received them when I had the 8703.

OTHERS- I just went into my email settings, but I do not see where to chante from BES to BIS.

On the computer you have Desktop Manager, go to Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs, and select BlackBerry Desktop Manager and select Modify.

When you go through the setup, select BlackBerry Internet Service, or if you select BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Desktop Redirector, you need to select Redirect messages using the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector, and have Desktop Redirector running on your computer, and make sure you point to the correct Outlook profile.

If Add/Remove programs says it can't modify, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall Desktop Manager. I suggest extracting the installer as described here to prevent this problem in the future.

I have the same problem. I accidentally selected BES and tried to change DM to BIS but ended up needing to remove the software and reinstall it in order to get the messages to stop coming.

How do I confirm I am now running on BIS and not BES? Besides waiting to see if I get anymore of those funky emails?

Ok I uninstalled and reinstalled and made sure I selected BIS. I'm still receiving those network emails. How long does this typically take to change?

On your BlackBerry™, go to options-advanced options-service books.

Find the one labeled Desktop and delete it then reboot your device.

    They should instantly then stop.

    BTW:

What usually causes this is one of two things:

First, someone has set up Desktop Manager as a BES account instead of a BIS account.

Second, and what I have seen be more of the case, is someone has accidently started an Enterprise Activation on their BlackBerry™.

When you set an EA, the device actually sends these messages out to your server trying to authenticate the email address with the BES/server.

It continues to send them until it either times out (usually 5 days) or it authenticates.

Most ppl change the DM, but don't delete the Desktop service book, which is what is sending out the actual messages. They are being sent from your handset and not necessarily RIM like they show in the sender.

    N8DBB-

I sent you a private msg since I am sure I am getting on folks nerves. I have two desktops and two emails in my services books. the difference is one is CICAL and the other CMIME for both the desktop and my email itmes. Please let me know how I should proceed.

Delete out any service book that is labeled as Desktop.
