    Replacing my BB

    Hello all,

I recently put my BB pearl in the washing machine ( I caught it before the cycle started) but it got kinda wet and now only turns on for a little bit but then freezes.

I have cell one service so if I buy an unlocked AT&T blackberry will my sim card work in it? Thanks for your help!!!

In order to use a sim card from one carrier in another phone from a different carrier you will need to get the phone unlocked to your sim card. Example: If you take a tmobile sim card and put it in an att phone it won't work. You would have to get that att phone unlocked first.

If you try and put a sim card from another carrier into a device that is not unlocked you will get an "Enter Subsidy Code" message every time. The device your trying to use must be unlocked or of the same carrier. Just because the sim card will fit in the slot does not mean it will work.

I'm pretty sure ATT bought out cell one, so my card should work in ATT phones, if not I can get it unlocked, thanks for the help!

You can get it unlocked for sure, whether or not it still works depends on how long ago they bought them out. For instance, The old ATT wireless sim cards(pre-cingular) will not work in the new ATT phones unless the new phone is unlocked. Good luck with it, just post if you need any more help.

That is one way to clean the dirt and lint from around the trackball!

As long as Cell One is GSM and the device is unlocked it should work. You will probably have to tinker with some of the settings though.

How do I go about getting the phone unlocked? Do I contact my current provider or the one on the phone?
