    Replacing company firmware?

I'm looking at getting an unlocked curve from a buddy. It's on AT&T, and I use T-Mobile.

Unlocking will be good, as I'll be able to make and receive calls...but is it possible/doable to fully replace the AT&T firmware that's on the phone with the T-Mobile firmware?

(Assuming the phone from AT&T is the exact same model as what T-Mobile offers/has offered in the past)

You can load the T-Mobile OS on the AT&T phone. It will NOT change the AT&T logo that appears on startup, but you can use the T-Mobile applications....check out threads about loading another vendor's OS on your device. Must be the same model.
