It's great to hear that you enjoyed good service.

Noticed you have a Ubuntu logo, what are you running it on?

I use it on my T60 ThinkPad, ver 8.04.1

    Cheers

I've used a variety of Linux distros over the last two years, and find Ubuntu Hardy Heron simply outstanding.

Fast, stable, and fun to modify to my liking, it's the best.

And yes, it blows XP out of the water....ha..ha..ha..

    Cheers

I put Damn Small Linux on a 256MB flash drive, it is cool to mess with, but I love me some XP

Actually I like to joke around about XP, but I've got mine maximized, so it's very fast & stable. Since I do 3D design work as well as many other types of resource intensive tasks, I have some proprietary windows apps that I must use. Thus my solution was to install a second hard drive in my workstation class ThinkPad laptop. This way I have massive room for XP & files on one HD, and Ubuntu & files on the 2nd HD. They are completely separate that way & I have them configures so that Grub is isolated to the Linux HD, thereby insuring that it did not right to the windows MBR during the install. Also this way, since the Linux drive is in the ultra bay it's easily moved to my other ThinkPad when I want to use an optical drive in the workstation.
