instead of sandblasting the glass...why not try this http://www.superior-industries.com/w...oduct_203.html. however instead of spraying it on the rollers...spray a coat or two onto the glass ball to give it the rubbery texture but keep the see-through properties. This may be a simpler fix and won't require you trying to sandblast such small objects with precision. Just a thought...overall this looks great if it will work and i would definitely buy a few. Keep up the good work !!!

Why did I see this thread now? Why couldn't I have seen this sooner? Oh well... Anyways when these become available I want at least 4 of them for my 2 pearls and 2 curves. I am so tired of looking at my crappy dirty track balls all the time.

Anyways I have a suggestion for you if you need to make them frosted. Why don't you use an acid etch solution to etch them. Its found in most craft stores and isn't to expensive. I'm not sure how it works on Pyrex glass though. I want this product bad and so does my wife. Even if it looks like the OEM pearl it would always look new if it was glass because it wouldn't stain. I did see in the past pages of this thread someone did mentioned an acid solution to try. I think an etched ball is going to be the easiest and most economical solution instead of trying to rubberize the internal rollers. Personally I'm thinking if you did rubberize the rollers it still wouldn't work due to the fact that you are coating the magnets with rubber and they will have there magnetism decreased a lot.
Just my feedback on this product I really really want to see and want.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i got desperate and swiped one of the dummy balls from a local Walmart lol, its rubber not the harder material it works great have to get used to it being softer then the original. That was maybe a month ago, now its starting to not track same as the original ball did. I'm frustrated and would like for rim to come up with a solution to an inevitable problem regardless of your profession, I'm in manufacturing/blueprint design with the manufacturing part I expect the track ball to start to slip, my business partner who's an accountant and sees no dirt day in and out has the same problem. It comes from the lotioning of hands in between emails, eating in between BB messages I'd almost prefer a roller type system like the old style but still located where the current track ball is.
