    registering pin at bis.na.blackberry

I gave my old BlackBerry to a friend and they tried to set up an account at

    bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw

but when they put the pin # in it says that pin number already registered so it won't allow them to create their own account. I changed the pin on my account to reflect my new BlackBerry. How do you correct this problem. Thanks

Did you change both the PIN and IMEI numbers on your account and resend service books, Grecon?

I changed the Pin, what is IMEI ~ I know I didn't change that. I resent the service books after I changed the pin.

Go to Options>Status. Both your PIN and IMEI numbers are there. You need to change both on your account, then resend service books. Hopefully that'll free up the other device for your friend.

::edit:: I know we have to do this with an AT&T account. Not sure about vzw, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise, you may have to take Dream Rider's advice and call Verizon to have them release the PIN from the other device.

You may need to contact your carrier if unable to change it online to clear it for the new owner.

Verizon doesn't have an IMEI number. They are not GSM.

They use an ESN number instead.

You should be able to located it on the Status screen or remove the battery and it should be on a sticker

Thanks Ge. Does that information need to be entered into the BIS along with the PIN?

    Yes it does.

On your carrier's (Verizon) BIS launch page. Enter the PIN and the ESN number.
