Hello everyone. Question. When I look under securities then click "certificates" I get a run down but i notice several RED X's. 2 on DOD CLASS 3 CA_ and 4. Also on GTE CYBER TRUST ROOT. And VERISIGN IECA. Will this effect my device. And how did they get there?

    Re: Red X's at certificates

I don't know how they got there, but I believe that it means that those certificates have expired. I don't know that much about updating certificates on the BB. If you don't visit any websites that require those specific certificates for access, it shouldn't have any impact on your BB use. And the only impact is the loss of access/function on sites that use those certificates.

    Hope this helps
    Rcbjr.

You had them also N8DBB. That makes me feel much better. Thought I did something wrong that caused this.

    Re: Red X's at certificates

Nah, like Rcjbr said, they are just expired certificates.

If you don't work for the DOD, you don't need them...I went thru, deleted all of them and have had no problems...not sure how much space they took up, but they were just wasting space...

They are pre-loaded on all BB's...If I am not mistaken, I believe they are sent in thru the OS, so whenever you reload an OS you will have them.

I have 1 expired certificate as well. Click the trackwheel while the certificate is highlighted and it will tell you why it is red.
