    Quick question about pin release

I am getting a 8700 on Monday, and I think it's been used before (pin has registered with BIS). My question is:

The previous owner had switched to a pearl (you know on BIS - switch handheld), and will this release his old handset's pin as well, or does she need to contact the operator (o2)

    Many thanks,

They need to contact the service provider and have them release the pin.

I think if the previous owner closed their BIS account properly and cancelled they BB plan for that device, you shoudl be good to go.

There is an option in BIS 2 to "Change Handheld". It the previous user did that, then you shoudl be good to go. Try it and see. I f it doesn't work, then have them contact the carrier.

Thank you very much for your answer, I've been searching for it in many forums, and this one is the most direct answer I've got.

Just for future reference, "change handheld" in BIS does release the pin.
