    Question Question about PIN-to-PIN encoding...

I rarely ever send PIN to PIN messages, but I noticed something today when setting one up. There is an option at the top...

    Encoding

    with options:

    Encrypt
    Plain Text
    Sign
    Sign and Encrypt

I know what all if this it. What I want to know is how is this implemented on the blackberry? I don't have a lot of savvy BB user friends to test this out with.

    Feel free to explain.

When you go to compose a new PIN to PIN from the messages screen. About the To: box there is the option.

i noticed this too on my 8310 4.5.0.81. When you go into Compose PIN above the To: field there is another field called Encoding. Mine is set to "Default". If the PIN messages can be encrypted then the log should not show it as it since the log file is in text. Not sure about the sign/sign and encrypt options though.

I see it. I never payed attention since I barely send pin messages. it must be a way to send really secure data to a fellow user.
