I just saw 3 commercials about Sprint and the 8703e. Is there some new campagne they're try achieve? Too bad their selection of BB's is very limited.

Not sure on the reason for the advertising, but I love the one where the guys get caught hiding the woman's BB.

Im not arguing or threadhijacking, but I wanted to ask a question... Sprint has the following BB's, 7250, 7130, 8703, 7520 and 7100i. Thats a total of 5, how many do other carriers have?

You are correct is Sprint is pushing the BB, but more so trying to push their EVDO service.

T-Mobile has (or has had) the following: 7730 (discontinued), 7290, 7100t (discontinued), 7105t, 8100 black, 8100 white, 8700g. I have used 4 of those LOL The only 3 I haven't had are the 7290, 8100 white Pearl and the 8700g.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ all I can say is it's about time the BB got as much public attention as it has now. Too long retail stores have acted like they don't exist.

Re: Pushing the BB hard - Sprint.

I saw the black T-Mo BB Pearl in a magazine yesterday while I was at the doctor. Also, I need to correct my count in that earlier post. I went thru RIM's BB history and found all models that T-Mo USA has had. Since 2003, T-Mo has had 9 BB's. Here they are listed with release dates:

    6210 (June 9, 2003)
    7230 (Aug 11, 2003)
7730 (Mar 25, 2004)-had to Google this one to get that date LOL
    7100t (Sept 8, 2004)
    7290 (Mar 11, 2005)
    7105t (Oct 13, 2005)
    8700g (Apr 18, 2006)
    8100 (Sept 7, 2006)
    8100 White Pearl (Jan 14, 2007)

    I have had the 7730, 7100t, 7105t, and the black 8100

That is five but the 7250 and 7520 are roughly equivalent as are the 7130 and 7100i -- though there's a bigger gap between the latter two. All four of those are definitely old 7XXX series models. My guess is that the point wasn't the number of BB models but the lack of new/current BB models.

...and that's CDMA for you. If you want the latest BB's then you really need to go with GSM.
