yes, that is a good stable OS. download it. delete the vendor.xml file. plug bb into usb. open DM. at this point, it you should get a pop up window to install the OS...click yes and continue with the wizard.

Please forgive my ignorance when it comes to all the compter terminology. I'm glad to be learning though. Where do I go to delete vendor.xml file?

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Once you install the device os to your pc go here: program files/common files/research in motion/app loader/

Find the file that says vendor.xml and delete it

Its ok. You will have no problems.

I can now access my pics, telenav, mp3, ring tones. But my browsers are still not there. Is it going to take some time for them to show up?

I don't belive it is a phone problem, becuz b4 i set up the tmobile service the phone worked fine. I've tried all your directions above. and still nothing, am i screwed cuz my phone isn't branded to my service provider? please and thank you

Has anyone heard of an error that causes ringtones to play at half the volume?

    g mail issue & BIS

the issue is if i send a email from a desktop location anywhere for the last three years i have had a blackberry the process has been

automaticaly my sent mail arrives in the inbox of handheld this has been normal practice the same as my brothers and colleagues using gmail with NO app

you have control over this with BIS if you dont wish this function you can filter it out
i do use this all the time to have my wife send me links from desktop or pictures back and forth etc etc cheaper than using mms

it appears that new version of BIS 2.8? filters this without the customer myself having the choice

in my case this is a big disadvantage as a blackberry don't have the built in function to view mail i have previously sent unless i either install a application or depend on the internet to connect to gmail rendering the blackberry a expensive paperweight.

the changes are fairly recent i believe but any solution to get back to the true synchronization i had before would be welcomed.

hopefully you understand the need for two copies one on desktop other on blackberry sometimes separated by hundreds of miles it would be easy to pick up blackberry and reply to the sent message or individuals on mailing list header with one click
