    Thumbs up Pioneer Blackberrys!

Many BlackBerrys represent a big change in hardware or form that impacts the entire line. Vote for the model the you think made the most significant change, the one that you believe was the greatest pioneer.

My least favorite of the choices, nevertheless the one I voted for, is the 8100 Pearl. First BB Camera, first trackball instead of trackwheel, first BB to utilize a memory card. I think it was the biggest pioneer.

My vote has to go with three models: the 71xx, 81xx, and 82xx series. These BlackBerrys look like cell phones rather than flat pancake bricks. The 71xx were the first SureType BlackBerrys.

I have a 7100t, an 8100 and my current 8120. I had a 7105t but no longer have it due to defects in 2 units.

The 8220 also gets my vote for being the first BlackBerry in a clamshell form. I don't have it yet but maybe.

I can attest to this from personal experience. I have a 7730 and HATE it due to the pancake form factor. I never used it as a phone because of the feeling of talking into a brick.

Although my previous post says multiple devices, I voted for the 8220 Flip.

Well not to mention that some OS upgrades made greater changes than some of those phones, and forgetting about the first BB ever, and ingnoring BIS and BES upgrades, I would have to vote for hrmmmm None of them

Rolling out Video recording and side load memory cards but na gotta stick with the first BB ever being the pioneer..

Kinda silly why the 8100 didnt have a side load
It takes many professionals versed in many different area's to help the masses, I am just a single drop in that pool.

I have to go with the 8100, as Mark said-first trackball and first camera on a Blackberry. Also, wasn't it the first with a memory card slot? Or am I mistaken?

No question for me, it was the original Pearl. That phone brought in an entire new era of Blackberry owners. For the first time the younger generation started looking at and buying the Blackberry phones.

Definitely the 8100 for me as well. The storm brought nothing but disappointments and a lot of OS updates MHO

Pearl by far. Still to this day I believe it was RIMs best move.
