"PIN SWAP from one BB to another?"

I lost my blackberry 8100 about a week ago and got the blackberry 9000 as a replacement handset. I heard a rumor that you could actually keep your old pin and register it with my new handset? Anyone out there know's anything about this?

Is this dependent on the network? As I am on the O2 UK Network.

I thought PINs were unique to the phone... I didn't know you could transfer them...

This is what I heard as well. They are embedded in the ROM and can't be changed.

If your worried about your contacts having your OLD PIN then you the Switch device option in DM and it will update your contacts on it's on
The young man knows the rules, and the old man will enforce them!

I went back and searched "change pin" and everything points to the fact that one CANNOT change a PIN.

Not to sure then. The work mobile is on t-mobile uk and he had a blackberry pearl then a curve and was using the same pin not sure if it is different because it was a company contract or what but he had the pin moved thats all i know.
I think the same in the way that they are unique to the phone but there we go.

It appears that it is possible. My service provider just changed it for me back to my old one.
