Question Pin Message has no Send Option

On a 8310 I am able to compose a Pin message but there is no send option on the menu. Does anything need to be enabled on the device or the BES to allow the send option to appear?

You can send PIN messages even without BES. What happens if you click the trackball or enter key?

Is it not possible for BES to have disabled that function for security reasons??

Yeah the BES can restrict the ability to send PIN messages. You should check with the admin to see if there is an IT Policy blocking this.

When I pressed the button, the only options are save draft and full menu.

I can send and receive BB messenger messages.

You can't turn off a BES. A BES is a server your device would be associated with in order for you to communicate with your works email system. As far as what you need to do is you need to contact your IT Department and see if the IT Policy assigned to your device restricts PIN Messages

I don't think you can turn off a BES, just maybe get off one and switch to a personal BIS?

There is an IT Policy applied to this device. What policy value do I need to check for in the BES Manager that would restrict or needs to be enabled?

In the IT Policy you need to go to the Device-Only Items and make sure that the Allow Peer-to-Peer Messages option is set to "True"

    That was set to True.

Reading the description for that policy property, how do you configure it to use encrypted PIN messages?
