That makes sense, I also sync first. But I was thinking some people may backup first, just in case something goes wrong with the sync.

Sync then backup - then you get a backup of your (correct) sync'd contacts, calendar, etc. I can't think of a reason NOT to do it that way.

I do the opposite - I backup first in case something goes wrong during the sync. I've had too many weird things happen with computers to take the risk. I know I have the data I've synced also on the PC so it won't be lost, but sometimes I add things directly to my BB that I don't have on my computer and those are the items I am most concerned about losing - hence the peace of mind of backing up first.

To each his/her own - if "weird things happen with computers" you could have a "weird thing" happen during/with the back up as well. At least you always have the option to view the sync info and decide whether or not to proceed with the sync. Whatever...

Like a post-it notepad...or BB notepad? The answer to that is very crucial

    Uh oh!!! Party Foul...lol.

I might consider doing it the other way just haven't had an issue as of yet. If it ever happens I might have to look at my method again.

I always sync then backup... call me crazy but I always store multiple copies of my back up... just in case, one on my PC, another on my online storage site, and another on my 16GB Flash USB Drive... I've had too many bad experiences with losing my info on my BB so I play it safe...

I backup then sync. Just because I've never had the best luck with anything intellisync based. Plus, I rarely enter anything on the computer to sync to the BB since it's mainly a personal device. (Work decided we needed WinMo phones to reboot throughout the day, just to keep us on our toes.)

I backup then Sink. Yes, Sink - I do the backup, then do the dishes. (I'm a Phone-Only PIMster)
