    Hello,
I have just installed Opera Mini on my peal but when I click it, it does not detect my network connection. Any ideas on what I need to change to make it work?

    Thanks!

Do you have your tcp settings setup?

Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP

    APN: wap.voicestream.com

    Welcome to Pinstack MrBreeze,

Yea i have to say I like it A LOT better than the default browser.. However I heard that they were going to upgrade the default browser soon and make it a lot more appealing than the current version.

I wouldn't say its better MrBreeze. But it will access sites that our default browser won't. In my opinion, its a must have application.

    And welcome to Pinstack.

    Re: Opera Mini and T-mobile

i've been browsing this board for some time now, and i'm glad i'm finally posting. unfortunately, the post is more of a help request. i've searched the threads and troubleshooted, but nothing seems to work. i dl'ed opera mini via my desktop pc and transferred it via BB Desktop Manager. i'm still getting the "you do not have a working connection prompt". i've changed my APN using both wap.voicestream.com & internet2.voicestream.com. still no change. am i missing some mundane detail?

    Two questions,

    1) Are you on BES? If you are you need to get permission from your systems administrator to evenadd it to your BB.

    2) Do you have the right version installed?

Also when you do the APN setting, you leave the user name and password blank for TMO.

for shamed, I'm a noob. BES? I have an unlimited data plan through T-Mobile. Which Version should i be dl'ing? The name and password fields have always been blank, but I'm sure the problem lies somewhere in your first two questions.

Hey dont feel bad we have all been neew once.

BES means you have your BB thru where you work.
BIS means you have sole control of your BB. There is a much better definition for this but I think you get the idea.

When you went to the opera site did it detect your BB and say you were installing the 8100 version? And also, how long have you had your Blackberry? In some cases it can take upto 72 hours for them to be fully working on the network.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~MrBreeze, as far as which browser is better, it is definitely personal preference. You'll have to try it out for a little and see which one you like better. I find that most people, including myself, prefer the BlackBerry browser, which is not all that surpising seeing as it is specifically designed for BBs, and Opera is made for use on multiple types of devices. Also, keep in mind that you can change the "Emulation Mode" in your Browser Configuration in the Browser Options.

    Re: Opera Mini and T-mobile

Sorry geecuey2, I fell asleep last night. It sounds like you have all you need to make this work. So look at the version you have installed. If you could try this, Take your battery out for about a 10 count, then replace. Once you have booted back up, try your connection again. Also check to make sure that you have your APN set correctly, wap.voicestream.com, all lowercase. Then let me know what you get.
