I have over 4000 contacts in my BB, which is way too many.

The reason I have all these contacts is becuase I cannot figure out how to make the certain contacts in my entourage NOT sync with the BB server.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks

To make it easier to help, please explain the following:

    Blackberry OS version?
Are you on a BIS or BES plan?
If on a BES, is it company?
If your using Entourage I would assume your on a Mac, if so what OS?
What version of Mac Office 2004 or 2008?
How are you trying to sync? (ie pocket mac, or missing sync)

    Let us know.

Sorry, I should have listed that before!!

    I am using a Verizon 8830

HostedBlackberry Enterprise Server 4.1 from mailstreet.com

Using Entourage 2008 with Mac Leopard.

I am not using PocketMac or Missing Sync.

What I am wondering is this.

Is there a way to stop certain contacts of group of contacts in my entourage setup from sync'ing with the Blackberry server?

If I delete them from the 8830, it ends up deleting them from my Entourage, which is NOT what I want to happen!

    Hope that makes more sense.

Well I am sorry, but as of the current BES, you cant sync specific contact folders. I think that the new version of BES (v4.1.5) will allow you to use contact folders, but unless mailstreet has the latest BES your out of luck.

The only work around I can think of is export all your contacts from entourage and put them in address book. Then delete the ones you dont want on your blackberry. This way you can still have your contacts on your computer and you dont have to have them on your blackberry.

Well what I decided to do was create a new contacts sub-folder and moved the contacts I didn't want into that sub-folder.

Then just moved that sub folder to an area in the file structure OUT of the exchange server.

    That seemed to solve it.

    Thanks for the suggestions!
