    NEED HELP - Message"Blackberry Registered with a different Service Provider



    Hello guys"

    I bought a device (8300) some months ago from Cable & Wireless Jamaica and now i am trying to register the device so as to get the internet, email etc.

    When i tried registering i get this Message "This Blackberry i registered with a different service provider, please re-register this blackberry and verify the URL matches the one provided by your service provider".

    i call the service provider and they say the device is not registered to their network. now I will have to go fight them and spend hours with them to get any result.

    Can anyone offer any HELP?

    I signed up for the Email/internet service and can not use it because of the above.

    That means someone had activated it on the BIS account before. If the provider you purchased it from is the provider that is shown on the boot screen, then call them. If not, you have to call the original carrier (the one that the device is branded) and ask them to release it for you.

    It can also mean that your BB hasn't registered with the data network yet. Do you have an active data plan with your provider yet? If you do, try doing a battery pull and resetting your device. Then try going into your e-mail settings (on the device itself, not your computer) and see if you can get it to register.

    I don't have a data plan yet. Actually i just signed up a few days ago and decided to register the device as instructed by the provider when i got the message that it was registered with another provider.

    This is the best advice. Try and contact the carrier the phone is branded to and see if they will help you.

    I dont have the email or internet service as yet. I actually just registered for both with the service provider and try to register the device when I got the message "Device already registered with another service provider".

    When I try to start the browser it returns this message ˙ou are not currently in a area that can handle data communcation. As a result, thebBrowser cannont retrieve any web pages. please try again when you are in a different location or contact your service provider f the problem persists"

    It can take up to 4 hours for data to provision correctly. Go into options > advanced > host routing table > menu > register now. Also make sure you have all your service books (browser etc) in options > advanced > service books
