I have to step out in about 15 minutes, but you're in good hands with the Cowboy, Lola! I'll check back later, but I'm sure you'll be back up and running by then!

The only thing your going to be able to do since you figured it out as being the port is to try and get it to connect again like you did before. I think if you do that it will load with no problem. The hardest part will be getting that connection again as you did before and having it hold while the OS loads. You wont even be able to breath on it till its done..lol

    Try this

    Restart Your computer
Make sure Desktop Manager is not running

    Start
    Programs
    Accessories
    Command Prompt

    cd\
    cd program files
    cd common files
    cd research in motion
    cd apploader

    loader /nojvm

The loader will start, click next

Select USB: <Your PIN> or USB: UNKNOWN and reload the OS

If you do not see this option

Disconnect the Pearl from the USB
    Do a battery pull
While the LED is on, connect the Pearl to the USB (you have to be quick, the LED is there for a few seconds only)

USB: UNKNOWN will appear, select it and click Next

Give that a try. If you are having problems with the USB port on your Pearl, I suggest you use your fingers to keep it in place while you are doing the upgrade

Sounds like there is no OS, so it will not turn on. You have to get it to reload.

Ge we have already established she has a bad port on her device so I doubt this will do any good. But you can try it lola. That was gonna be my next suggestion if you got it to connect.

Since you have a loose USB port on the Pearl, I suggest you use your fingers to wiggle it till you know it connects, once you have that established, hold it there.

You are not suppose to launch the Desktop Manager. Just use Loader

Ok Im back. So I just plugged in my phone in the USB cord. Nothing came up as far as a bubble telling me a driver is being installed or usb not detected. In the computer manager it says blackberry smartphone is connected, so I guess that is good. But in the desktop manager it is not showing my pin or connecting to that. I dont know what to do...

If you have a good connection leave it and reboot your PC. If that doesnt work try doing as GE suggested.

Ok, but I had a question about what GE told me to. How exactly do I need to write that all in the command prompt? and when I am done do I just press enter? Ive never used it before. Didnt even know what its for haha.
